Sarkis (born 1962) learned the craft as an apprentice to a tailor. Since 1979, he worked as an independent tailor in Al-Hasakah, creating made-to-measure suits and dresses. In 2024, he fled to Belgium with his wife and youngest son. At REantwerp, Sarkis hopes to put his many years of craftsmanship back to work and build a new future as a tailor in Belgium.
